David Goggins is not your Guru

David Goggins, is not your friend. If you’re reading this, in a temperature controlled room, with a shirt on, and Rocky isn’t playing on repeat, then for any of those reasons, and certainly the combination, he probably hates you. Probably, being highly optimistic.

When David began his journey, he had no Goggins, he only had Rocky and Round 14. Again, David only had Round 14. The legendary round by Philadelphia’s very own. If Apollo Creed was Goliath, then that would make Rocky, David and with Round 14, our David became Rocky and then some…

There was a moment when the roaches were given one more day to live so that David could die. The initial blow lands but David wasn’t done yet. What finally did him in, was the first 100 mile run, by the culmination of each strike his broken legs made on the track. Death by a thousand cuts, now he’s fully Goggins.

Gurus guide you, lead you and teach you how to transform yourself into the wind. Goggins has crossed the valley but he’s still there. You think he’s back because he left a few books for the records, but Goggins, he may never come back. We want to emulate what he’s become because he sees life in dimensions where some couldn’t and others wouldn’t’ want to fathom. But, no matter how much you’d like to see it too, how does one teach another to see?

David threw a stone down a bottomless well and Goggins jumped after it. Now it’s our turn.
